Harvey Dent. Two-Face. You've read his file, I'm sure.

He's been known to harass, among other things. And he's started again.

[ A measured pause. ]

What has he been doing exactly and who has been on the receiving end of this harassment?

[withamask]

[ A gruff exhale. ]

He's sent me letters. Several of them. And he's pestered people I know.

Last time this happened, he ended up committing murder.

What did these letters entail? [ She doesn't sound all too pleased herself. ] And he's been pestering people here, you say?

[withamask]

[ There's silence for a moment. She doesn't exactly want to divulge the details but realizes that it's necessary. ]

Yes. And he's sent me threats. [ Renee knows she's stretching the truth, but to her, it's not by much. ] He said I can't hide from him. [ A scoff. ]

Listen, Lieutenant. I've dealt with him before. Things will only escalate, unless he's stopped now.

[ This isn't looking too good. Ananke remains calm and considerate, though the concern is impossible to filter out entirely. ]

Do you have a moment to spare, Ms. Montoya? I'll need to see these letters firsthand.

[ She exhales softly. ]

Fine. Where should I meet you?

[ She straightens her uniform and as promised, will be waiting patiently for Renee in the building. ]

[ It takes Renee almost an hour to collect her papers and arrive. In one of her hands, she carries a folder. ]

Lieutenant.

Evening, Ms. Montoya. Thank you for meeting with me.

[ She beckons Renee to follow her, carrying herself tall, but without a doubt with great concern for whatever is in that folder of Renee's. ]

When did you receive the first letter?

The other day. Part of "The Magical Memories Shoppe" promotion that's going around.

[ Renee hands over the folder and then folds her arms. Inside, there are twenty letters in total, with only two missing. Not that she's about to inform Lt. Ananke of that information.

Although a few of the letters are torn and others are crumpled, they're still legible.

However, each one is notably anonymous. ]

[ Ananke takes the folder, raising a brow when she opens it up to find that many letters inside. She had expected quite a few, but perhaps not this many. Her brows pull closely together. ]

Lord Almighty.

[ She begins to read through each one. ]

Pardon, but why are you so certain it's Harvey Dent?

[ There's no judgment, no skepticism. ]

Like I said, I've dealt with him before. In the City and back home. I know how he works.

He's insane. And he needs to be taken care of.

[mmnpcs]

I want to help you, Ms. Montoya, I honestly do.

[ She spreads her hands. ]

But we need to confirm this. Have you been down to Mistress Maude's shop to confirm Harvey Dent sent these himself?

[withamask]

[ A gruff, frustrated sigh. Her hands fall to rest on her hips. ]

No one there had any answers.

[mmnpcs]

She might be afraid of bad business.

[ A shake of her head. ]

Have you received anything else in the meantime? Phone calls, e-mails? Have you felt you were being watched at any point in the day? See anyone suspicious?

[withamask]

[ One hand lifts to run through her hair. ]

No. But this is how he operates. He's not obvious about it. Until it's already too late.

Ms. Montoya, I need you to stay calm.

[withamask]

[ Her arms begin to extend outward in near exasperation. However, after a few seconds, they fall back to her sides. Renee's voice is solemn, tinged with mild irritation. ]

I am calm.

[mmnpcs]

If Harvey Dent did indeed send you these letters, then he must have done it in person or gotten someone to send it for him. Either way, there's a face to put to the customer who went into that shop.

Then, maybe you will have more luck.

[ Officer or not, none of the employees were responsive to Renee. Not even with her more aggressive style of interrogation. However, perhaps they'll show her more respect. ]

I certainly hope so.

[ She pours back through the letters. ]
